  • LaDale Winling

    PROJECT DIRECTOR

    VIRGINIA TECH

    LaDale is a historian at Virginia Tech, one of the co-creators of Mapping Inequality on redlining and the Home Owners’ Loan Corporation, and author of the book Building the Ivory Tower: Universities and Metropolitan Development in the Twentieth Century.

  • Maura Fennelly

    DIRECTOR OF CHICAGO RESEARCH

    NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY

    Maura is a PhD student at Northwestern and studied Political Science and Sociology at American University and worked as an Americorps VISTA with the Chicago Rehab Network, an affordable housing nonprofit. Her graduate research is on inequality in neighborhood-level participation and the rise of single-family rentals since the Great Recession.

  • Anika Miro-Quesada

    Anika is an undergraduate student at the University of Chicago majoring in history. She began working with the CCP the summer of 2023.

    Connor is an undergraduate student at Northwestern University studying Human Communication Sciences and Legal Studies. He hopes to graduate in June 2024 and pursue a law degree.

  • Jonathan Petters

    VT LIBRARIES

    Assistant Director of Data Management and Curation Services. Jonathan provides research data management planning, training, and curation support to researchers across Virginia Tech through the University Libraries.

  • Bogdan Ivanytsia

    Bogdan is an undergraduate student at Virginia Tech pursuing a major in Geography and a minor in Geographic Information Systems. They are passionate about using their GIS skills to tell compelling stories and inform people around them.

  • Imma Mwanja

    VT LIBRARIES

    Imma is the Geospatial Data Curator at Virginia Tech. She has a background in Urban and Regional Planning with a major focus on Geographic Information Systems (GIS). She uses her GIS expertise to provide geospatial data support to researchers, faculty, staff, students and the Virginia Tech community in general through the University Libraries.

Bennett Miller

RESEARCHER EMERITUS

Ben is an alumnus of the University of Chicago. His research focuses on the lived and imagined realities of race in the post Civil Rights era. He has contributed to projects for the National Archives, American Historical Association, Norton & Company, WETA-TV, and the Pritzker Military Museum and Library. He works for a federal contractor on housing policy.

Chloe Zheng

Chloe graduated from the University of Chicago and is now pursuing a master’s degree at NYU.

Carlos Velasco

RESEARCHER EMERITUS

Carlos was a graduate student pursuing a Masters of Urban Planning and Policy (MUPP) program at UIC. Born and raised on the south side of Chicago housing discrimination is something that has affected him and his family. In this role, Carlos created data that will help former, current and future residents of Chicago.

Victoria Kurlander

RESEARCHER EMERITA

Tory is an alumna of the Masters of Urban Planning and Policy (MUPP) program at UIC. She is fascinated by historical discrimination in housing and land use, particularly in Chicago, community storytelling, and the idea of empowerment vis à vis community development and education.

Molly Delaney

RESEARCHER EMERITA
Molly graduated with an MUPP from the University of Illinois-Chicago and now works for an urban planning firm in Chicago.

Hannah Lahti

RESEARCHER EMERITA

Hannah is a PhD student at LUC. Her research focuses include public history, historical memory, museums, and oral history. Some of her recent work includes the revision of the National Park Service's National Historic Landmark for the Oscar Stanton DePriest house in Chicago, Illinois.

Jennalee Beazley

RESEARCHER EMERITA
Jennalee is a law student at Duke University and editor of the law review. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Virginia Tech in May 2019 with degrees in Economics, International Studies, and Spanish and a minor in P.P.E (Politics, Philosophy, and Economics).

Steven Foy

RESEARCHER EMERITUS

Steven works at Amazon and graduated with a history degree from Virginia Tech.
